Porch Family Photos - Silverwood Glen Neighborhood
As the unemployment rate increased rapidly across the country I knew I wanted to raise money for families who were in need.
I am fortunate to live amongst caring and generous neighbors. Collectively we raised $1,400 for the Food Insecurity Crisis Fund which supports District 200 students and families facing food insecurity. Instead of charging a session/photo fee, I asked only that each family make a monetary donation right to the fund in order to maximize our impact. 100% of the $1,400 raised was sent directly to the Food Insecurity Crisis Fund.
I took photos of each family on their porch/front yard, while maintaining a safe distance of at least 10 feet. Even though the settings might have been different than a normal family session, I feel like I still captured the same emotions and connections between family members.
All donations to the Food Insecurity Crisis Fund go directly to helping local families. You may donate online at StudentExcellenceFoundation.org/foodfund/ or via check: Student Excellence Foundation, P.O. Box 253, Wheaton, IL 60187.
